I attended Ed's class this morning....Good Stuff.
Having left the NYPD a few years ago, I've been lucky enough to get to go to other similar
theme training like the Caliber Press seminar, and the Reid Street Crimes Program.
Both of these professional, slicked up seminars are a few days and a few hundred bucks each.
Ed's class is on par with these 'big league' seminars. Yes, it's condensed into a few hours,
and the setting is informal, but it's not your usual mind-numbing, read from a text book,
department issued bs training. Like I said, good stuff.
Thanks Ed.

Dear Edward
THANK YOU FOR A GREAT SEMINAR! I LEARNED A LOT OF NEW THINGS.
I would like to come back for a refresher course some time in the future.
Please keep up to date with anything new product or invention that you have.
Thanks again.

Dear Ed
THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR GREAT ADVISE, I APPRECIATE IT!
I was just speaking to a cop who got hurt on the job
and now needs surgery for his back. I feel strongly that cops need to use
good tactics to stay safe. That's why I want to spend more time learning
the job. Brooklyn North is a very dangerous and violent place. I need more
training but I am confused about how to get it. I don't know where to
go and who to ask? I have tried to speak to some of the senior cops but
they just tell me I need more "T on the J". I have seen Police DVD but I
don't know how useful they are. What do you think?
I am sorry to bother you all the time but, you are clearly the BEST COP I EVER MET!
You are very knowledgeable about police work and tactics.

I can not believe it. Totally awesome ed. I learned more here than 15 years in the nypd.
Ed you should be working for dhs, or some anti-terrorist unit. Keep up the great work.
03-20-06
Dear Mr. Polstein
Your testing our of our security was a real eye opener. Never in my years in the NYPD and in the security field have I seen anything like this.
I would most definitely like to send my security personal to your course.
05-13-06
I took the class, and the academy doesn't cover any of it. I can't say enough good things about your course, it boggles my mind how the nypd doesn't touch on any of this in 6 months.
I wouldn't have recognized a quarter of what Ed had if I had just run into it on the street.
The best part of the course is the hands on aspect, once you get to play with these items
you really learn what to look for.
It's definitely worth the time and a steal for the money.
07-15-06
The course was great. I was skeptical when you said that you'd have no problem getting into a secure facility with deadly weapons (including handguns), without any kind of official ID, but you definitely backed that up. Same goes for carrying a deadly, full sized, 6+ inch fixed blade right onto any commercial aircraft, virtually at will.
I'm going to try to suggest that GSA make your class mandatory for the private security people who work the screening equipment at federal facilities to identify the combinations of regular items that they'd never bother even taking a look at without your training. Frankly, any agent who ever serves a warrant or goes out as part of an arrest team would also be a lot safer after your class. For you guys on patrol, just being able to identify that one mystery item posted on the Rant is more than worth what Ed (under)charges for the course, because that single piece of knowledge could easily save a few MOS lives on a "routine" call someday. Thanks again, Ed.

We had an assault case where a student was repeatedly stomped on.
He received orbital fractures to his eye and other injuries.
Our detectives said this was an Assault 3 (misdemeanor)
With great patience I explained how this was an Assault 2 and mentioned ''case law''.
The case law was from your explanation how you had a similar case and invoiced the boots as evidence. They charged him with the felony.
Thanks Ed

The 47 Hour Armed Security Officer Course was Outstanding.
You were very informative as well as knowledgeable in providing me with detailed information concerning the safety, handling, and proper usage of weapons in accordance with
New York State Law. You are the best Firearms Instructor in the field of Security and Law enforcement I have ever en counted. Thank you for your time and patience.

Ed
Just wanted to say hi and thanks for the class. I thoroughly enjoyed the course and wanted to send you a letter of recommendation. Any time you want to go to the range, feel free to call me since I am just around the corner.
As a graduate of Polecat Security Testing, I would highly recommend Ed Polstein as a competent and highly efficient instructor.
He is a dedicated individual who is committed to his students; he ensures that they get the very best training. The knowledge he imparts for personal defense and security is second to none. Ed really takes the time to make sure that his students understand how to defend people and property in these unsure times.
Ed takes the time to make sure that all lessons are geared to each individual student, thus insuring that everyone taking the class walks away with thorough training that was tailored to meet their needs or levels of understanding. He spends enough time with each individual so that they will understand the concept of getting involved in an extreme situation as well as the consequences that you reaction to an even will incur.
If you are considering getting into the security business or just re-certifying; if you are a retired officer, have military background or jus a civilian looking to get involved; if you are looking to make sure this is a right fit for you, Polecat Security L.T.D. is the professionally, and smart way to go.
03-29-10
Great time Ed. Thanks for all the help and understanding. Your detail in knowledge of facts about the gun, how to shoot, and personal experience in real life situations were really worth the time and money invested in the course. your patients and ability to know what your students needs are to help the learning process was right on key.
The price was right and was cheaper than anybody else out there.
Many guards at my work place recommended you and it was well worth it.
Thanks for all the help!!

Ed....Just a short note to thank you for an extremely interesting, educational and insightful learning experience. Your extensive background in law enforcement and military training created a course that will benefit all who attended in their future endeavors.
What I initially thought would be a boring, read through the manuals type of instruction, was, in reality, an exciting, invigorating experience inspired by your real life adventures.
I would recommend your course to all and any personnel interested in obtaining knowledge in the security field.

I recently completed my 47 Hour Armed Course at Polecat Security Testing Ltd. I was actually refered to Polecat by another security training school; which bred confidence. I did my due diligence and found this is the best priced instruction available for armed guards.
The instructor made certain that you understood all of the course work & is willing to spend extra time in both the classroom or on the shooting range if needed. Polecat also offers a full line of Security training as well as civilian firearms training.
I'll refer everyone to Polecat Security Testing with confidence!

Dear Mr. Polstein,
Thank you so very much for a wonderful class today. I sent my son Jose Gonzalez to you and he didn't want to go at all. He has an opportunity to work for Suffolk County as a Security Guard and has fought me tooth and nail insisting he doesn't want that job. Working for Suffolk County with this entry level position is a great start for him for his future. Being 21 years old he is stuck in young person mode and doesn't want the responsibility expected of him to work full time. He went for his interview and enjoyed it, he came to your class and loved it. He said you were awesome and that you made class very interesting with you life experience, the way you spoke and taught. He said that if I had sent him to any other teacher he probably would have hated it but because you were so wonderful he had a great time. Thank you so much for all you have done. This I hope will make a huge difference on his outlook for starting with the County if he is chosen and get him off to a great start with an adult job. I was so happy to hear him telling me about you. You have been wonderful and words could not express how elated I was when my son got out of class and called me. You have been an inspiration! Thank you so very much for loving what you do and spreading it!
All of the Best,

Eddie,
I want to commend POLECAT SECURITY on the program they have put together. Being a school district
administrator, Mr. Polstein is not only highly experienced in firearms, His teaching skills are not only based on the required text book instruction. He is a master teacher. He incorporates real life experiences, and practical hands on methods within the class.
I evaluate teachers regularly and I would highly recommend The POLECAT SECURITY conducts to everyone. You don't only leave with a certification. You leave with confidence and understanding on what to legally do in a situation.
